Hello scholarship searchers!
Have you submitted your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) yet? ![]()

Did you know that EACH state has a different deadline? You might get some Federal aid, but if you miss your own state's deadline, you will miss out on aid offered by your very own state. State aid can be a valuable source of financial aid, so go to the FAFSA website (dot GOV, not dot COM) and make sure you know the deadline for your individual state. Why miss out on free money???
Go ahead, CLICK!!! ----> FAFSA DEADLINES

Hey everyone, I was contacted this week by the Rise Scholarship Foundation asking me to share their scholarship details on my site. I often get emails from parents and students wondering if there are any scholarships out there for students with learning disabilities, so I'm happy to share this one. ![]()

From their site:
The RISE Scholarship Foundation, Inc. was established in 2010 to award high school graduates who are heroically starting on their college pursuit.
These students have endured the challenges of having a diagnosis of a learning disability, which is a neurological condition that can make it difficult to acquire certain academic and social skills.
Statistics show that only 13% of students with LD, attend college within two years of graduating high school.
In order to ensure that students, with learning differences, see the importance of accepting their differences and working hard to overcome the challenges they face, it become imperative for educators, therapist, and parents to look for ways to build self esteem and to stress the importance of continuing their educational pursuits. One way that this can be accomplished is by recognizing and rewarding success stories.
RISE is recognizing certain student’s hard work and dedication by selecting recipients for a $2500.00 scholarship, payable to the college they decide to attend.
Go HERE and then click on "Award Application" to apply:
GOOD LUCK!!!

Today I'd like to share with you an organization that I discovered via Twitter (LOVE Twitter! Find me there ---> AidScholarship)
It is called the "H.O.P.E. Scholarship" and stands for Helping Others Pursue Education.

From their website: The H.O.P.E. Scholarship is a non-profit organization designed to empower financially strapped students attending historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs). The organization was founded by two Howard University alumni committed to serving their communities. We are raising money to reward deserving students with $1,000 scholarships through the assistance of students, alumni of the black college community, frequent fundraisers, and corporate sponsorships.
The site is a wonderful rescource for students wishing to pursue higher education. I encourage you to visit it here and always have HOPE for the future!
